About Apollo Victoria Theatre Talk

The Apollo Victoria Theatre is part of the global leaders in live theatre - Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG). With close to 50 venues worldwide, an award winning production company and a leading theatre ticketing business, the Apollo Victoria Theatre is the largest of ATG's venues in London's West End and the proud home to the spellbinding WICKED for almost 13 years. With the venue itself turning 90 next year, we are proud of its unique design, history and the amazing shows the venue has homed over the years from Bombay Dreams, Starlight Express and now WICKED. WICKED, the West End and Broadway musical sensation, is already the 9th longest running musical in London theatre history. Winner of over 100 major awards, the classic musical has now been seen by almost 10 million people in London alone. “An absolute blast. Packed with wit, storming songs and beautiful costumes” (The Guardian), WICKED imagines an ingenious backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely University friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. The 2,328 seat Grade II* listed theatre opened as a cinema in 1930. In the era of 'super' cinemas, Provincial Cinematograph Theatres (PCT) invited Ernest Walmsley Lewis to submit plans to build such a cinema a stone’s throw away from Victoria Station. Step inside to explore this unique theatre, which is a testament to art deco design.
