The Jazz re:freshed Sonic Orchestra is available to watch on the Sadler's Wells Facebook page from Friday 1 May at 7.30pm BST, to kick off the weekend which would have been Breakin’ Conventions’ 17th annual festival. It will be made available to view for seven days on Facebook and YouTube. In 2018, Breakin’ Convention partnered with the prestigious live jazz organisation, Jazz re:freshed, with an innovative collaboration with celebrated the 15th anniversaries of both companies. Live music meets hip hop dance theatre in an exhilarating performance featuring an incredible big band ensemble of 15 leading jazz musicians, debuting a specially commissioned score by Jason Yarde, with performances by dance artists representing highlights of Breakin’ Convention’s illustrious history. Companies appearing alongside the Jazz re:freshed orchestra include The Locksmiths, The Ruggeds, Mufasa & Ayanna, Boy Blue, and Tanaya “Ice” Martin alongside host Jonzi D, UK hip hop theatre legend and founder of Breakin’ Convention.
