Another digital offering from the excellent Unicorn Theatre, and this one comes in the form of a theatrical reading of Roald Dahl’s disgustingly enjoyable story about the disgustingly awful Mr and Mrs Twit. In fact, Ned Bennett’s offering is delivered with a theatrical flourish that comes complete with eyeballs and doesn’t hold back on the nastiness that still makes Dahl’s stories a gruesome delight. Martina Laird and Zubin Varla enjoy themselves, and so will you and the kids.

About The Twits

Imagine the worst people you can think of, can you do that? Good. Then you’re just about ready to meet Mr and Mrs Twit, the nastiest couple you could ever hope (not) to meet. We're overjoyed to be launching a brand new theatrical reading of one of Roald Dahl's best-loved books about a most despicable couple, The Twits, the clever Muggle-Wump and the magnificent Roly-Poly Bird. This unabridged reading, filmed in our theatre, is gleeful, gunge-filled digital storytelling aimed at children aged 6 - 12. We're releasing our horribly fun reading for free on our YouTube and The Guardian's website from 5 September, 10am and it's available until 30 November 2020. The story is split up across three 20-minute episodes, but will be released all at once so that you can enjoy them whenever, and wherever, you want. As part of Unicorn Online, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering a range of free online theatrical experiences that we hope will be enjoyed by children across London, the UK and beyond.
