About Putting On, Taking Off

Having begun to experiment with different clothes as a way of escaping notions of what ‘can’ or ‘cannot’ be worn, this show explores how beginning to identify as a cross dresser introduces a new set of social rules that seem to reset gender norms as much as question them. Theatre maker and 2014 BBC Verb New Voice Matt Miller follows the success of their previous solo show Sticking with a new work-in-progress which seeks to articulate these complexities, and from an autobiographical starting point hopes to address wider social concerns, as we begin to embrace gender fluidity and multiplicity.
