Some people reckon that the immersive theatre boom is well and truly over but I’m not so sure. I didn’t see this show from Flabbergast Theatre when it premiered in Edinburgh last summer but I heard good things. Expect to be dropped into a world of Victorian depravity set in an 1830s taproom with sideshows, vaudeville turns and even a boxing ring. Hopefully the company have had a chance to tighten and layer the show since last summer and perfect it’s much admired recreation of 19th century low life.
Submerge yourself in the delights of our 1800s taproom; dance, sing, gamble, and cheat through this decaying world. Swig a London porter and become the hero, or swill bathtub gin and relish in the carousel. This night promises to thrill with award-winning clown, puppetry and cabaret. Lose yourself with The Swell Mob.
