Focus on the Positives takes the form of a queer monologue, with the ever-silent but ever-present boyfriend role being performed by a movement-based performer. We see this man spiral but then ultimately become educated on the issue - showing how easy it is. We follow them on topics that vary from dough balls to princess Diana and follow their lives in flashbacks. All set in a bedroom, this show is conversational, queer and - most importantly - honest. These two men grow together and experience each other’s world, and are the better for it. This show is messy, welcoming and unflinching in its discussion of the topic - everything Baggage Claim Theatre aspires to be.
