About I Couldn’t Do Your Job

I Couldn’t Do Your Job shows an honest insight into the state of the NHS and the people behind the uniforms. Iceni Theatre Company interviewed NHS Paramedics over a period of 5 years which created this unfiltered play. Iceni allowed them the space to share stories they wanted to tell from their funniest job to the issues within the service and those patients they can’t quite shake. I Couldn’t Do Your Job offers a look into the highs & lows of being a paramedic. It explores themes including PTSD, the dark humour that gets them through the job & ultimately exploring the ‘why’ & the ‘how’ of what they do. This play is for us. A nation that relies heavily on the NHS. A service we all use. These are the stories that need to be told and need to be heard. Audiences will laugh, cry and ultimately ask the question: Could you do their job? For purposes of discretion, all character names and places have been changed. Please Note: all of the actors are not trained paramedics. Age Recommendation: 14+ This show contains strong language and distressing sounds. It additionally contains references to: Violence, death, mental health, self harm, suicide, nudity, pornography, pregnancy & childbirth.
