From the intrepid team who brought critically acclaimed productions of HAMLET to the streets of Rotherhithe and A CHRISTMAS CAROL to the historic Brunel Pub. Appropriately for our first production we’ll be dusting down and breathing fresh life into the UK’s earliest plays. The riotous, knock-about, hilarious and moving Medieval “Mystery” Cycle was performed by ordinary people for ordinary people as a celebration of the community's favourite myths and legends. In response to the UK’s gradual and fluctuating release from lock down we invite you and your friends and family, of all ages and beliefs, to share in the unlikely, inspiring tale of how a young man of faith with a flair for a sound bite and a gift for crowd control out witted the Roman Empire!... and even death itself. Packed with colourful characters from across the Medieval heavens and earth this production, depicting good people overcoming great misfortune will appeal to everyone, of all faiths, from across the world, emerging from the isolation of Covid with hope in their hearts. Expect laughter, passion, puppetry and song and dance in a production conceived to reconnect you with your neighbours, in support of the Red Cross’ Campaign to End Loneliness. These unforgettable few hours of live entertainment, performed in and around St. Mary’s Churchyard and the Mayflower Pub in Rotherhithe, are tailor made to adhere to the very latest health guidelines as the they evolve.
