Stepping off the bus from Allentown, Pennsylvania straight onto the sidewalk of New York City, Peggy Sawyer doesn’t know exactly how to go about making her dreams come true. Bolstered by her youth, beauty and obvious talent, Peggy soon becomes a favourite amongst the chorus kids. 42nd Street has a book by American playwrights and Tony nominees Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble, and lyrics by American songwriters Al Dubin and Johnny Mercer. It features music from legendary songwriter Harry Warren, who is credited as being the first major American songwriter to write primarily for film. In his lifetime he was the winner of three Oscars and received eleven nominations.

This fantastic new production of 42nd Street is directed by Jonathan Church, whose previous credits include Singin’ In The Rain and The Drifters’ Girl. 42nd Street is designed and choreographed by Olivier Award winners Bill Deamer and Rob Jones.
