About Women and Power: Directing Theatre in the 21st Century

This panel will consist of contemporary theatre directors. Each panelist will have directed Shakespeare or his contemporaries as well as new, dynamic feminist writing. Questions such as: is there a place for Feminism in classical theatre? What challenges does a director’s gender present? Where is theatre going as we enter the next decade of the 21st century and how can female directors shape the future of theatre? Speakers include Lucy Kerbel, Sarah Frankcom and Athena Stevens with further panellists to be announced.
