‘Cold Feet’ and ‘Toast of London’ star Robert Bathurst will lead the cast as Scrooge for the European Premiere. Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol has been adapted for the stage in this new production by David H. Bell, Paul T. Couch and Curt Wollans. Music and lyrics were provided by musical icon Dolly Parton, who this year will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Parton previously provided the music and lyrics for the hit musical 9 to 5. Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol has a book by David H. Bell. The production initially premiered in Boston, where it was directed by Curt Wollans.

As a child, she remembers being entertained by her mother’s Smoky Mountain folktales, which helped to inspire her love for storytelling. In 2016, she set out to help victims of the Smoky Mountain wildfires, raising $9 million with her Smoky Mountains Rise telethon. She also recently released the holiday single A Smoky Mountain Christmas.
