Sailing tells the story of a man called Prince as he struggles to find love in an old conservative village by the sea where he might not be perceived as a “real man”. In his struggle, he goes on date after date until eventually – all hopes crushed – he decides to become somebody he is not. It is a touching and bittersweet one-man show about sexuality and repression, examining ideals of femininity and masculinity. A journey from self-doubt and loathing, to self-acceptance. Told with a personal touch bouncing back and forwards between comedy and tragedy.
