About Housewarming

Five performers embody one character, Anashe, as they invite the audience into their house, reflecting on what it means to be from somewhere else, wherever they are. In this touching experiment, you are invited to follow and participate in Anashe’s reconfiguration of self through song, movement and storytelling. From the playwright and director, Tatenda Shamiso: “I am using this show as an opportunity to hang out with my beloved collaborators and make funny shapes with them. We might also form a mythical sovereign nation.” This show is part of ‘Young, Gifted & Black’, Theatre Peckham’s five-week programme, unapologetically celebrating people from the African diaspora through a variety of artforms.
