A Lightweight Disposable Product’ tells the story of a young mixed race woman entering the very white, male dominated UK arena of 1970s punk rock. July 3rd, 1976. It’s Nora’s 19th birthday and it’s been three years to the day since she ran away from home. Standing outside the Pier Pavilion, Hastings, having just watched The Sex Pistols play live for the first time, she knows her life is about to change forever. ALINEMENT is a new Theatre and Film Production company focused on creating stories that are often seen as ‘niche’ or ‘taboo’. Our ethos is to take stories that are otherwise seen as seasons e.g: ‘Black’, ‘Queer’, ‘Female’ etc and push them to the front with the same validity and gravitas as conventional narratives. The idea for the company was born out of diversity centric frustrations felt by us within the creative industry. The name ALINEMENT came from an urge to align anyone underrepresented: black, female, LGBTQI+ with the mainstream. ‘Opening doors and creating pathways for the 'Other’ to tread and become the norm!’ Suitable For All Tags: Black Voices,Gig Theatre,Women’s Voices *Contains Strong Language, Themes of An Adult Nature, Mental Health Triggers, Strobe Lighting
