About Sisterson Foods

People always ask me "What's is like inside your head?" A poetic testimonial about struggling with mental health. "...it isn't afraid to be bold and stand out" (The Stage) I’m a Fourth Monkey and East 15 graduate, it was during my training that I started trying to write plays. Then whilst at East 15 I started to write and perform my own poetry. Which eventually evolved into a multimedia show “Sisterson Foods” , I devised around my own experiences with mental health issues. Using spoken word poetry, home video footage and a hip-hop inspired soundtrack. I try to honestly explain what it’s like living with these conditions on a day-to-day basis. At the end of my time at East 15, a few friends and I formed a graduate company called Full Pelt Theatre in 2016. Since then we have gone onto tour three shows successfully around various fringe festivals. (Brighton Fringe, Plymouth Fringe, Ventnor Fringe & Pulse Festival) A one-month run in Edinburgh of our comedy about two babies still inside the womb entitled “Wombmates: Is There Life After Birth.” Two shows accepted for runs at Vault Festival (Wombmates & Sisterson Foods). And our Debut Show “The Going Away days”, which tackles toxic masculinity within Football Hooliganism successfully, toured which culminated with a sold out run at The New Diorama. 15+ Tags: New Writing,Solo Show,Spoken Word *Discusses dark themes and strong language
