The Story Unfolds: Origins and Evolution
Based on Roald Dahl’s much-loved picture book, The Enormous Crocodile is a vibrant musical adventure packed with mischief, music, and jungle mayhem. The story follows the cunning Enormous Crocodile as he slithers through the jungle, plotting to feast on unsuspecting children. But the other jungle animals—Trunky the Elephant, Humpy Rumpy the Hippopotamus, and Muggle-Wump the Monkey—are determined to stop him. Can they outwit the greedy, grumptious beast before it’s too late?
Behind the Scenes: Crafting the Spectacle
This snappy musical is brought to the stage by an award-winning creative team. With toe-tapping music by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, a hilarious book and lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, and additional music and lyrics from Tom Brady, the show is a feast for the senses. Directed and developed by Emily Lim, it features an ingenious menagerie of puppets designed by co-director and puppetry expert Toby Olié, with stunning set and costume design by Fly Davis and puppetry co-supervised by Daisy Beattie.
