About I Should Be So Lucky

Take a trip down memory lane and the aisle with Stock Aiken Waterman's official musical, I Should Be Lucky. Listen to the soundtrack of a generation live on stage, including songs from pop royalty Kylie Minogue (I Should Be So Lucky) and Rick Astley (Never Gonna Give You Up). Not to mention, Jason Donovan (Especially for You) and more. There is no current news on a London transfer for I Should Be So Lucky; however, make sure to check back for updates.

The Story Unfolds: Origins and Evolution

I Should Be So Lucky is a musical inspired by the music of the legendary trio Stock Aiken Waterman, who took the pop world by storm in the 80s and 90s. Known as the Hit Factory, the trio were renowned for churning out smash hits for pop icons such as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.

The musical tells the story of two star-crossed lovers, Ella and Nathan, who both experience wedding jitters but dream of a tropical happiness.

As Ella is jilted at the altar by Nathan, she is devastated at losing the love of her life. However, she doesn't have the time to let that sink in as she is whisked away to her honeymoon. Accompanying her to a Turkish resort are her family and friends.

I Should Be So Lucky had its world premiere in November 2023 and toured the UK and Ireland until May 2024.

Popular songs featured in the musical are "Venus" - Bananarama, "Never Gonna Give You Up" - Rick Astley, "Too Many Broken Hearts" - Jason Donovan and "I Should Be So" Lucky" - Kylie Minogue.

I Should Be So Lucky is directed by stage and screen legend Debbie Isitt, who is known for the hit Nativity! franchise. The musical is choreographed by Jason Gilkison, who is also the creative director for Strictly Come Dancing.
