This time, they set their sights on Charles Dickens’ beloved festive tale, but in true Cornley fashion, everything that can go wrong does. From miscommunication and disappearing actors to last-minute set disasters, their rendition of A Christmas Carol quickly spirals into an unforgettable comedic catastrophe.
Originally created by Mischief, the award-winning team behind The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong, this laugh-out-loud production first delighted audiences on television in 2017, featuring David Suchet. Now, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong West End audiences can experience the mayhem live at the Apollo Theatre for a strictly limited seven-week run from 6 December 2025 to 25 January 2026.
Mischief Comedy has announced this brand-new live production, penned by original Mischief members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields. The creative team behind Christmas Carol Goes Wrong comedic play has built a reputation for delivering meticulously choreographed chaos and side-splitting physical comedy.
The Cornley crew battles against missed cues, collapsing sets, and a heated rivalry over who will take centre stage as Scrooge. With Mischief’s unparalleled expertise in physical comedy and tightly choreographed mayhem, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong transforms Dickens’ timeless story into an evening of pure festive escapism. The cast features Matt Cavendish as Max, Daniel Fraser as Chris, Sasha Frost as Sandra, and Chris Leask as Trevor. Lewis plays Robert, Sayer takes on the role of Dennis, and Greg Tannahill appears as Jonathan. The role of Annie will be shared by Nancy Zamit and Dumile Sibanda. Understudies include Alex Bird, Will Bishop, Siobhan Cha Cha, Colm Gleeson, and Ashley Tucker.
