A bold, community-powered new production about belonging, resistance and the stories that bind a place together, All the Things We Can’t Explain transforms Kilburn into something extraordinary. Kilburn is at a crossroads. Local institutions are closing, outside forces are circling, and “rejuvenation” masks something more unsettling beneath the surface. When a mysterious object appears — the beating heart of Kilburn itself — the community is thrown into chaos, forced to confront what is being lost and what is at stake. This flagship Kiln Theatre production brings together the venue’s Intergenerational Company, an ensemble of 80 performers aged 6 to 88, for a large-scale mainstage event. Blending myth, politics and community storytelling, Sonia Jalaly’s new play explores memory, identity and resistance in a production directed by Kane Husbands and Izzy Rabey.
