Loved this play. I’m a fan of the books but not the movies particularly, and really enjoyed the adaption of the Harry Potter world to the stage.
I was excepting lots of high tech wizardry with all the bells and whistles (like Wicked) but instead was met with something far superior.
The show’s magic came from the fact all the tricks were done right in front of your eyes - almost Victorian theatrical trickery.
The story was great, even though I read the play I’d forgotten one of the major plot twists which was a nice surprise.
Could probably have sat through the whole thing with only one interval!Read more →

Well... I am a big fan of HP who has read the books a million times and I didn’t even have huge expectations for this play, knowing the staging will be the best part of it. Still....not convinced. Staging is nice, the magic tricks at Part 1 was very impressive. However, you shouldn’t use the same tricks too much, that will spoil the excitement. The play is unnecessarily long, too complicated for children, too childish for adults. It feels like somebody put a fan fiction onto the stage. Somehow, being a HP fan, I couldn’t resist watching this... and feeling a little joy, Nostalgia has won the game.Read more →

The whole show felt a bit too staged. My favourite part was actually 3 the storyline got intense and you were so invested in the story the effects lifted this with the dementors but the stage changes became the same with the whoosh of the robes and the choreographed dance , the storyline still needs a lot of work because the end the whole show felt pointless to me all we got was the famous Harry Potter talking about himself and how he wasnt to blame for being a bad father it was because he didn’t have a father. The whole thing was revolving around the boy who lived.Read more →

Lucky enough to have seen this already, I can only say it's just as good second time around. The music is brilliant, choreography amazing, actors strong (opening night of the new cast: crushed it) and magic outstanding. I still have an issue or two with certain things but it’s THE most wonderful experience regardless. #keepthesecrets obviously, but the plot is a conversation starter with emotion, politics, fighting, & an identity reveal. Whether you’re a Potterhead or not, it’s spectacular 👓⚡️Read more →

First off - I am not the hugest Potter fan. I enjoy the films and have visited the theme parks but I’m in no way a “super fan”...
...but this show is amazing. Staging is by far one of the best I’ve ever seen of any show and their grasp of magic is superb (I’m a working magician and know how hard some their stuff is for new people...they pull it off flawlessly)
Expensive? Yes! Worth it? YES!
Warning: DIE HARD POTTER FANS TEND TO DISLIKE THE STORY AS IT MESSES WITH CANON!Read more →

Wow wow wow what a show! Booked our tickets a year and half in advance and was well worth the wait. I was so excited when the day finally arrived! As cliché as it sounds the show was truly ‘magical’ and as soon as I left the theatre I knew I wanted to see it all over again. Can not recommend this highly enough, the best show I’ve seen for so many reasons. I know one day I’ll be back for sure!Read more →

You’ll sometimes forget you’re even watching a play...
The sheer scope and production value of the ‘Cursed Child’ is extraordinary. If you can watch ‘Part 1’ and ‘2’ in the same day I highly recommend it. This was my favorite experience out at the theater and definitely due to the outstanding acting, gorgeous set pieces, and the fanfare of the story. Loved it.Read more →

The stage production was impressive and at times...yes, magical! But both parts seemed a little long. I vowed to keep the secrets so won’t give too much away! But the narrative jumping through time was a little tiring. Perhaps too reliant on the Time Turner. Perfect, brilliant casting. Everything a Potter Head would want 19 years later. Warm fuzzies all round.Read more →

The effects used in this show are no doubt magic. I was worried as a big Harry Potter that I would always be comparing it to the films but after the first five minutes any doubts went away. Both parts were filled with incredible twists and turns whilst honouring it’s routes, I can now understand why tickets are like gold dust after all this time.Read more →

The best thing I've ever seen on stage. Saw both in one day, it was a perfect day and recommend you to do it all in one sitting - perfect time to pop up the road to Flat Iron for a meal in between! A perfect continuation to the Harry Potter saga and how they copy film-level special effects on stage is simply incredible. Top work!Read more →

In its own right an entertaining Potter story very efficiently written. It is elevated by an extraordinary production which is at times quite breathtaking. It is very simple on the surface but clearly rehearsed to the nth degree. Potter fans will devour the whole but it works for us muggles as a piece of bravura theatre.Read more →

This was my first time seeing this massive production in London after having seen it twice in the States (once as the Two Show and once as the new condensed One Show). I will say I prefer the 2 Show day production and it was truly wonderful to see it in this beautiful theatre. Fantastic story telling.Read more →
