I'm a huge ALW fan so I was very excited to see this re-imagining of the Cinderella fairytale. Well it was a spectacle! It felt chaotic, flamboyant, OTT and at times bizarre. I really liked the music, especially the songs "I know you", "Only you, Lonely you" and "I know I have a heart". Some really glorious classics that feel like traditional ALW greats! The story I felt was a bit odd and unpolished, without giving too much away, I feel like more couldve been done with it and it came off a bit Panto. Vocals and acting was on-point, especially Carrie Hope Fletcher and Ivano Turco, both wonderful voicesRead more →

Prob a 3.5 star musical BUT Carrie Hope Fletcher’s Cinderella and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt’s stepmother hitch it up to a 4, plus (no spoilers) the most amazing stage magic trick I’ve ever seen. Carrie’s voice is a belter and she reigns supreme. I thought Emerald Fennell’s script would be a BIT sharper but some good gags&I really liked the commentary on beauty standards, for all genders. ‘I Know You’ is such a great diva song, the lighting is gorgeous&the idea that a makeover really doesn’t make someone more beautiful is one I’m sure will resonate more with girls today, than when we were young 🥾🥾Read more →

Easily eclipsing all competition for the campest spectacle in the West End, this retelling of the 'rags-to-riches with ****’ saga offers a remarkably fresh update with an unapologetically un-girly female lead (courtesy of Carrie Hope Fletcher) who strikes-up an unlikely friendship with the somewhat limp and insecure second-in-line Prince Sebastian (Ivano Turco) whose elder brother Charming, has absconded from Belleville leaving his ill-prepared sibling as heir apparent.
The show is definitely not just for Christmas and will undoubtedly have all round appeal, all year round.Read more →

One of the worst musicals I’ve seen in a long time. It’s recommended for 8+ but some of the language in the show isn’t suitable for 8 year olds. The score isn’t particularly great. The return of Prince Charming and the revelation about him seemed like an add on just to make the show trendy. The best thing about the show was the revolving seats. After five attempts to see the show it really wasn’t worth it. If you want to see a good reworking of a fairytale you’d be better to see Hex when it gets another run at the National in November.Read more →

First show back to the theatre and it was everything I needed and more.
I was smiling from ear to ear at the costumes, the Belleville 'hunks', the Queen vs Stepmother comic duo and the phenomenal staging.
The song list had me experiencing every range of emotion and Ivano Turco had me sobbing buckets. Carrie Hope Fletcher was breathtaking, as expected.
Highly recommend.Read more →

The intellectual side of your brain really wants to dislike it but you can’t help but leave feeling giddy. It’s fun, surface level, glitz and a dopamine rush. The definition of style over substance and what should be a panto but somehow is more, genuinely had a really fun evening. Victoria Hamilton-Barritt is phenomenalRead more →

An absolutely stunning camp OTT show .
The cast were fantastically talented and I am gutted this show has come to a end .
The last night was so emotional with Ivano breaking into tears as emotions were running so high after Lloyd Webber doing the dirty on the cast and sacking by social media.Read more →

Absolutely awful! Interesting twist on a well known story hidden between plain, lacking “oomph” songs. Second act is much better, unfortunately you’re already bored to death after the first one. Good performances from actors doesn’t hide the fact that the show is very vanilla…Read more →
