I went to see The Lion King on Friday June 24, 2022, the show was a blast. The theatre was full to capacity, there was no empty seats.
I truly enjoyed the show, however, the theatre needs cleaning, I was sitting in Grand Circle and you could see the dust on the wall, the dust was extremely THICK. I went home feeling sick, from the dust and the air condition, now I'm in bed with the flu
Yes I know my immune system is not the strongest because I do have a underling condition but I believe if the theatre wasn't that dusty I would be find. However, apart from that the musical was great, I would recommendRead more →

n 1999 this reviewer first sat in the stalls of the Lyceum Theatre to witness the theatrical magic of the opening sequence of Disney’s The Lion King, during which the audience is gradually enveloped by wild creatures of the African plain come to pay homage to Mustafa and the arrival of his cub Simba.
Over 20 years may have elapsed since that night, but watching it again last evening, I’m happy to report that the moment remains as vibrant and intensely thrilling as I remember from all those years ago.Read more →

The costuming and staging are imaginative and well done - you can see the effect that an unlimited amount of money can have in making a theatre experience spectacular. It’s pretty faithfully translated from the movie. However it feels a bit dated; one added song not in the film has a pretty clumsy hip hop breakdown that roots it squarely in the late 90s. So while spectacular it also feels a bit tired, though that probably isn’t an issue for the demographic who would most likely see this.Read more →

The Lion Ling wasn’t actually a musical I had thought about going to see until recent years, and I’m so glad I finally did! I have to say, I think The Lion King might be my favourite musical I’ve seen so far. The set, cast, music, everything was magical and I definitely want to go again in the future! The highlight had to be when Simba’s trousers accidentally came down mid way through a song with Rafiki and they carried on like absolute stars but also laughing away as we were too! 😂Read more →

It’s an amazing show, but not for me. I found it to be a little overhyped. Beautiful theatre and great seating, however! The score is wonderful; a personal favourite song of mine is ‘They Live in You’ and the reprise in Act II. Props to the cast and crew for making it happen, even if I enjoyed it less than I thought I would.Read more →

I saw it in 2013, that version I saw was not brilliant. Or should I say that version I “hear” was not brilliant, in truth, the visual was fantastic and flawless. It was grand and vibrant. However, I was not happy about the adaptation to the 2 star songs and the singing, especially when the little lion has gone off tunes..Read more →

I went to see this with my family and it was the first show I had ever seen. We went to see the touring company at the mayflower theatre and this is the reason I have gone to see many more shows since. The costumes were eye catching and the whole atmosphere on stage was amazing! Highly recommend!Read more →

Easily the most impressive aspect of this production is the sets and costumes. Its brilliant engineering and theatrical mechanics could leave in awe even the most demanding viewer. Combined with a variety classic songs and the Disney nostalgia factor, it is a must for children and adults alijemRead more →

Watched it once, loved it. Watched it twice, absolutely adored it. I would go pretty much once every six months if I could. I'm a big Disney fan, and the way they recreated one of my favorite tales of all time is breathtaking every single time I go. Would definitely recommend.Read more →

Second time of seeing the show (previous time was over 10 years ago). The cast is fantastic but experience slightly soured by a poor view from the stalls despite the price of tickets. Adults sitting on booster seats blocked the viewRead more →

Absolutely amazing, I was so so moved and truly felt immersed in the beauty and brilliance of the production. I can honestly say that the production has no faults. If you go to see it, try and see on the aisle, you won’t regret it!Read more →
