Lee Harper’s incredible story was brought to life in this fantastic performance with the three ‘children’ narrating the story beautifully. However, I felt that I didn’t have much emotional connection to the trial, it almost felt like a side story rather than the main component and I left the theatre confused as to how it touched me so deeply in the book, but not as much on the stage. There was one moment I cried and it was not where I expected. David Moorst was incredible as Dill and is one of my favourite actors. I felt bad for the ensemble as they just had to sit and watch the trial.Read more →

A very, very good adaptation of a very important book. Some stories are hard to perform in theatre and I thought this was one of them but the creators did their job perfectly. Great casting, decorations, music and relieving jokes just where they should have been. It’s devastating that the world changes slowly but such plays can make it better by showing the problem as it is. Special thanks to Richard Coyle, a brilliant actor and just the right choice for Atticus Finch.Read more →

One of the best plays I’ve seen in a long time. I’d never read the book or saw the film so the story was fairly new to me (I knew the general gist) but it’s a great story with several great performances by Rafe Spall as Atticus Finch, Gwyneth Keyworth as Scout Finch, Harry Redding (in his professional stage debut) as Jem Finch as well as David Moorst, Pamela Nomvete, Patrick O’Kane and Jude Owusu. If you only see one play this year make it this one.Read more →

Wonderful to see a serious (non-musical) packing in audiences in the West End. Despite some accents being difficult to follow at times and being quite long it was nothing short of compelling and relevant. A fine ensemble cast is led by Ralf Spall in a flexible and fast moving setting.Read more →

Belter of a show. Equal parts shocking and engrossing, this adaption of the book brings this story to life effortlessly.
The performances were all great, but Rafe Spall was incredible. What a great addition to the current West End plays!Read more →

I’ve seen the movie; so long ago but I’m pretty sure I read the book as well. I didn’t have a lot faith that the play could exceed the movie, i was wrong! My goodness the play was amazing and I would go see it again!!!Read more →

Very good adaptation of the book, although some subplots were glossed over, which was to be expected, but they hinted towards them throughout the dialog. The comedy landed throughout and i enjoyed it throughly.Read more →

Although it’s difficult to watch, the performances are excellent and captivating. Society needs to be constantly reminded of the issues that this play hi-lights so we continue to strive to do better..Read more →

There were great bits and then not so great bit. The accent of the child actors was difficult to understand and the ending was a bit jumpy. However if you get a good deal, go for it!Read more →

Very enjoyable reinterpretation of the classic. Sorkin’s idea of highlighting Atticus’s inherent flaws made him all more human and complex. Atmospheric and thought provoking.Read more →

This was one of the most uncomfortable shows I have ever seen. Uncomfortable because it made me realise that we have, in fact, still not come so far from this behaviour.Read more →

Overrated—just like the book, in my opinion. I love Sorkin but this is not “A Few Good Men” or anything close in terms of the power of the writing. Disappointing.Read more →
