A phenomenal production with stellar performances by Mike Faist and Lucas Hedges. A beautiful adaptation of the short novel. I laughed, I cried and I loved!Read more →

The flat rectangular playing area neatly conveys a barren and exposed Wyoming landscape, where the minimal furniture (required for domestic scenes) is raised through the floor of Tom Pye’s rustic and evocative set. Even the ramshackle tent which is erected during an early scene, has been carefully choreographed into proceedings and is lit internally to convey the first intense **** interaction between the two men who’s hitherto brooding connection overwhelms them as their months-long lonely vigil over a flock of grazing sheep effectively renders them lovers and companions.Read more →

Similar storyline to the movie and the book with good twist. Gripping story, commendable stage and lead cast has great chemistry.

It’s a beautiful performance with extraordinary musical part. However, it lacks the plot and the feelings explanation. I expected it to be more sentimental and hart-breaking, but didn’t catch why those two characters stayed close to each other for all those years. Maybe it should have been less physical and more about the feelings.
I love it but it could be just a little deeper.Read more →

Not quite hitting the sweet spot but beautifully set and the protagonists both very convincing. Use of music excellent without being more than accompaniment. Very affecting.Read more →

Beautiful performances that draw you deeper and deeper into the story.
Mike Faist and Lucas Hedges are wonderful.
The addition of music beautifully sung by Eddie Reader is simply woven into the story with great effect.
This stage adaptation of Annie Proulx’s short story, but known more for Ang Lee’s cinematic epic is a must see.
I was in tears for the last 10 minutes, and from the quiet sobbing I could hear around me, I wasn’t alone.Read more →
I have mixed feelings. I loved being able to see the actors in this show. They were wonderful. It was also very special to see this production in the round and intimate theatre. I had a perfect seat almost able to touch the real camp fire as they cooked their meals. I was disappointed with the written play- it was slow moving and I did not like having the older version of the main character on stage the entire show. I understand it is a flashback but not necessary. The actors made it a must see.Read more →
