We open with the storm - all billowing pewter grey gossamer and lightning which illuminates an ultra still Prospero (Sigourney Weaver) muttering incantations downstage centre. Ariel, her captive sprite (Mason Alexander Park) descends from the flies in a harness, whipping-up mischief and mayhem with a transfixing androgynous air, oodles of stages presence and a voice to match. But where’s Sigourney? The answer, despite her height and her world famous features, is… nowhere. She seemingly evaporates. Her delivery of the meter is flaccid and lacks understanding of the text. The set was amazing, and although still minimal, it’s already quite a lot for a Jamie Lloyd. The flow was kind of okey — it felt a bit strange hearing American accents, but that wasn’t the main issue. I don’t think Weaver has much experience in stage acting, and Prospero was a role too challenging for her, she doesn’t have the presence and the articulation was a bit off. It’s a shame, as this could have been a truly memorable version with better casting.Read more →

We are absolutely astonished by all the side cast and because of that we think they kind of had more stage presence than Sigourney Weaver, who’s supposed to be the main character and main attraction. We obviously don’t want to diminish her acting, it is an incredible task to perform Shakespeare, but overall there are huge competitors in the cast. 英语很屎啊我，纯粹为了凑热闹看明星才去的，到了当场才发现有字幕场。。又是莎士比亚剧本，对着书看我都没看下来过何况听话剧。。硬着头皮想锻炼听力吧，结果act1差点睡着数次古英语更是雪上加霜，基本上没看懂纯看氛围虽然没看懂但是知道原作剧情大致，感觉大明星演技好平。。没层次，旁观部分也没啥反应舞台布景很有氛围感，我很喜欢这种气质，配乐也很好女儿好有气质啊好像高配赞达亚。。服设让我一直看她大长腿😍可惜没去sd 其他角色的服设妆容让我很不解。。怎么都走妖艳夜店风？cabaret也是，这是什么zzzq之类的东西吗？感觉和剧情里的人物塑造也不一致啊 ariel很厉害，吊威亚唱歌还效果很好，谁知道我是看了一眼repo说某某唱歌很好听才以为是我理解错了这是音乐剧才来的啊。。真的很好听，整个场景很下凡感（如果没有那个妖艳qqny和夜店妆就更好了。。）sd的时候人也很温柔，给我签了to签态度也很好大明星sd居然是站桩式，阵仗也很大保安喊话多次还限制只能签刊。。态度很差，我说话就从头到脚打量我不回应，别人说话好歹还回几个字。站在旁边收个包还被赶，一群粉丝吃汽车尾气给她鼓掌还被保安瞪真给我笑吐了，谁说国外没有奴才！Read more →
