There is something super charming but also bizarre about this version. It feels like a real 2020s kind of production — the set is wild and empty at the same time, and the play is both active and passive. Clearly, it’s tailored for Tom Hiddleston, and he did a great job. The dances are funny. Can’t say I love it personally, but I’d recommend it for an entertaining Bard comedy night.Read more →

A beautifully staged play, but the dialogue felt outdated and a bit dull, which made it hard to stay engaged. That said, Tom Hiddleston was fantastic — funny, charming, and a joy to watch. If you’re a fan of his acting, it’s definitely worth seeing. Just keep your expectations in check.Read more →

Great fun. Beautiful to see a TRDL full house for Shakespeare. A joyous production. Performances that manage the scale of that stage - at full depth! More pink confetti than a years worth of weddings, globally. A wonderful exuberant evening in the expert hands of the Jamie Lloyd Company. Bravo!Read more →

If I could give it more stars I would!! I can’t remember ever laughing so much while watching a show. An absolutely spectacular celebration of Shakespeare, this became my favourite of his plays over the course of this evening. While keeping up the reputation of being one of his sillier plays, this production perfectly used every single emotional nuance possible in the text in a heartwarming and touching performance. So expertly delivered, you wouldn’t even think the language was outdated!Read more →
Perfection. Literal perfection. I was crying with laughter but the emotional bits were still tense and at times heartbreaking. Absolutely perfect show. Possibly the best thing I’ve ever seen.Read more →
