What made me enjoy the show the most was the set and the costumes, I was CONSTANTLY dazzled by the choreography and the way they used the space for their performances. Personally, jukebox musicals like this aren’t necessarily my thing. Sure it was fun recognising songs, but having them transposed into the musical genre is not my cup of tea. Nor was the story, I was never really a fan of the movie but I think they converted it well, I preferred this show a lot more than the movie. Despite all my complaints, I don’t regret seeing it. Positives: the set and costumes are amazing, choreography excellent, Karen Olivo’s Satine has some serious pipes and Harold Ziegler/The Duke are pretty solid. Negatives: far too many song choices and I think the main problem was that the show doesn’t know what tone it wants. It does its best but too preoccupied with fitting all the songs. Don’t be dissuaded, it’s really fun to watch, an overstimulating spectacle & everyone was clearly working really hard. The Piccadilly Theatre’s auditorium is bedecked in red decor and lighting as befits such a venue and the stage sets with their constantly moving façades and even more colourful costumes, maintain a dizzying visual spectacle from the start. If you’re looking for a thoughtful meditation on the arts, this won’t be the show for you. The dance numbers barely finish before another kicks-off and the comedy and villainy rarely rise above slapstick and pastiche. 女主在台上完全是苦相黑水牛脸，看得我好崩溃感觉完全不贴人设还好丑，总黑人撅嘴下垂眉像rapper，感觉对两个人都没有任何感情，生病了也武德充沛。。但是sd碰到真的是漂亮的！姐表管别太过头！唱得普遍不错音域好广感觉是人种优势，但是有唱得有明显问题的地方男主淡淡的，好像逃了高音，长得挺帅有个姐很飒，sd反而很一般，像是纹了老式眼线的姐姐。。整体故事稀碎，结尾的表演呢！就结尾处理的比前面好一点点，点唱机都还有蛮多我没听过的歌如何呢。。但是其他人都好嗨，为何？旁边老英男还看哭了。。感觉只有几首很有名的歌让我嗨了一下优点就是布景很好看吧。。尤其是开头那个还碰到抓马，原来座位斜前方有个典到吓人的karen（拉皮脸僵➕玻尿酸打成的腊肠嘴）坐在中线和她女儿（很典型的欧洲青少年脸还挺漂亮的）疯狂聊天➕若无其事高举手机录像，二个人狂战周围一圈人主打一个没理也骂人的可怕气势，staff这边过来警告➕拉架➕offer左边两个人升舱（明明正前排女生影响很大。。爱丁堡），邻座男完全是典到不行的中年英男，一脸生气地严肃警告并且拒绝。。我不懂两次的风车和大象基本不用管 stalls m22 -> l20 票根❌灯牌✅没拍卡司表Read more →

We could have done with a bit more rounge but as a whole the show was surely spectacular spectacular. All the cast gave it their all and my did it show all the details were amazing adding modern songs to this musical worked a treat. Utterly over the over the over the top, if that's what you're looking for, that's exactly what you'll get. Unfortunately a little too much juke box theatre for my liking, you're bombarded from outset with every pop hit from the last 60 years, there's over 70 songs crammed into this spectacular show.. the stage craft is sublime as are the faultless performances, but it left wanting some actual content over style..Read more →

As a production, it’s spectacular - the staging, set, costumes, lighting, all on point and feels immersive. They really lean in to being a juke box musical and audience was laughing along with song choices. There were a few minor moments where I felt the dialogue wasn’t as strong as the musical numbers or the accents didn’t fit especially when changing Ron speech to song, but overall a fantastic show and time.Read more →

I rated Moulin Rouge! The Musical a full 5/5 and it absolutely deserves it. From the moment the curtains rose, I was completely swept away by the energy and colour of the production. The set design was jaw dropping every detail of the Moulin Rouge club came to life with dazzling lights and rich textures. High in color. The Director managed to create a show that is inspired from the movie but well refreshed with recent adaptations and songs. The performers, most particularly the dancers are high energy and excellent. Fully aligned with the Moulin Rouge spectacular setting. Would recommend. Only slight negative for me was the singing of Christian which did not convince me. Maybe an off night.Read more →
