Positives: the set and costumes are amazing, choreography excellent, Karen Olivo’s Satine has some serious pipes and Harold Ziegler/The Duke are pretty solid. Negatives: far too many song choices and I think the main problem was that the show doesn’t know what tone it wants. It does its best but too preoccupied with fitting all the songs. Don’t be dissuaded, it’s really fun to watch, an overstimulating spectacle & everyone was clearly working really hard. We could have done with a bit more rounge but as a whole the show was surely spectacular spectacular. All the cast gave it their all and my did it show all the details were amazing adding modern songs to this musical worked a treat. I love the fact they did a whole circle to show the Christian wrote the story so his love for Santine could live on forever and never stop.
