James McAvoy was absolutely brilliant and the main reason for 4 stars. Minimalistic stage design took it way too far and felt like a cost cutting measure more than a conscious choice. Trying waaayy too hard to be “woke” and “in with the times” - it’s admirable when plays try to stay relevant, but hitting the audience with a hammer over the head to make a point is cringy.Read more →
