Bare stage, no props, little interaction between actors... only words and wit for this contemporary take on Cyrano where poetry meets rap. Solid acting, good laughs from the audience. Excellent evening.Read more →

Interesting adaptation. The second half lacks movement. Seriously though James is way too pretty to play this part, can’t you at least give him a fake nose make-up?Read more →

Extraordinary update and rewrite whilst at the same time stripping t bare and going straight to the poetry. Remarkable to see a mostly young audience sitting in rapt silence listening intently to verse. And McAvoy is really charismatic and joined by a diverse characterful cast. Unmissable.Read more →

Once I got over that, enjoyed a lot more & every scene with James was excellent, particularly where he becomes Christian’s mouthpiece with his improv. Not sure it’s as clever as it thinks it is, bit of a Hamilton-esque feel about it which was a little cringey&some bits felt like a poetry jam night... Having said that, the female beatboxer was great(!) & worth it just for James. He made me believe (in the end) that he was ‘****’: shows how powerful imagination can be, when inspired 🎤Read more →
